These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms" or the "Website Standard Terms and Conditions") govern all LAW.JOBS websites or related services owned, operated or provided by Law.asia Limited (referred to as "Law.asia").

LAW.JOBS contains legal job details and materials posted by Users of third-party companies, law firms and recruiters. LAW.JOBS is available for use only by general users viewing and browsing this website ("Users"), by individuals searching for and applying to legal job opportunities ("Candidates"), and by third-party companies, law firms, recruiters/recruitment agencies seeking to hire Candidates or posting employment openings, on their behalf or others' behalf ("Recruiters").

Law.asia does not act as an employment agency by providing LAW.JOBS (referred to as "Law.jobs"), and does not have authority to act or make employment decisions on behalf of Candidates or Recruiters.Z

These terms shall govern your use of this website, including all pages within this website (collectively referred to herein below as "this website"). These Terms apply in full force and effect to your use of this website and by using this website you expressly accept all terms and conditions contained herein in full. You must not use this website if you have any objection to any of these Website Standard Terms and Conditions.

A) Terms and conditions of use for Candidates

For purposes of Section A "Terms and conditions of use for Candidates", all references to "you" or "your" means you, the individual accessing this website in the capacity as a Candidate.

1. Job listings

This website contains legal Job Listings advertising employment opportunities, posted by third-party companies, law firms, and recruiters/recruitment agencies, which are accessible through search results or otherwise through the site. This website may also display Company Profiles of Recruiters who have entered their information and have such page activated. Registering for Law.jobs, searching for Job Listings, and applying for jobs through this website is free for Candidates. This website displays a combination of Basic and Premium Job Listings, where Law.jobs may be compensated by Recruiters in some circumstances to display Basic and Premium Job Listings on this website, helping keep Law.jobs free for Candidates.

Job Listings and Company Profiles are created and provided by third-party Recruiters. Law.jobs exercises no control over the content or links to/from Job Listings or Company Profiles, or any conditions third-party Recruiters may impose once a Candidate has submitted an application or left this website. Law.jobs has no obligation to screen any Job Listings, Company Profiles or any other information submitted by Recruiters for their accuracy, completeness or legitimacy. Some third-party Recruiters may attempt to charge Candidates a fee to apply, although Law.jobs prohibits Recruiters from creating such Job Listings on this website. Please contact Law.jobs if you have discovered such practice from Recruiters on this website. Once you have left Law.jobs and entered a third-party website, you accept the terms and conditions imposed by that third-party website. Entering a third-party website is entirely at your own risk. Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in the content or legality of any Job Listings, Company Profiles, or any other information submitted by Recruiters.

Basic Job Listings are indexed and posted in an automated manner, Law.jobs has no obligation to exclude or remove any Job Listings or its existence in your search results. Premium Job Listings are indexed and posted in an automated matter, and may be featured in more prominent positions in search results, as well as in other locations on this website, such as the homepage. Basic Job Listings and Premium Job Listings are displayed by default in chronological order of post dates, though Recruiters may opt to Boost a Job Listing to refresh its position in your search results.

2. Curriculum Vitae and Profile

By creating and adding information to your Profile, or uploading a curriculum vitae document or any other documents on Law.jobs, you are authorising Law.jobs to make available your Profile and any documents you uploaded to the Recruiters you have submitted a job application to. Any information or documents you submit through this website is subject to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy.

Do not include sensitive or confidential information in your Profile or any documents you submit through Law.jobs, this includes but is not limited to credit reports, medical or health information, and identification numbers. Law.jobs has no obligation to screen any information or documents you submit through this website for sensitive or confidential information. Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in any information or documents you submit to Recruiters through this website.

Manual Matching lets Law.jobs staff manually match Candidates to Job Listings created by Recruiters, according to the curriculum vitae document and Profile information the Candidate has submitted. Manual Matching will not be automatically activated, it will only be activated when a Candidate has chosen to do so by turning on the option in the Candidate's Profile. By activating Manual Matching, your curriculum vitae document and Profile information will be made available in a database only accessible by Law.jobs. Candidates may choose to de-activate Manual Matching at any time. Once Manual Matching is de-activated, your curriculum vitae document and Profile information will be removed from this database.

Once Law.jobs has manually found a possible suitable match between a Candidate and a Job Listing, the Candidate's name, email address, curriculum vitae document and profile URL may be shared with the Recruiter of said Job Listing. Recruiters may then contact Candidates, at which point the communication would be held externally to this website, and therefore Candidates will accept the terms and conditions imposed by that third-party website. Law.jobs may not share or communicate with Candidates that a match has been made with a Job Listing and/or Recruiter.

While Law.jobs endeavours for Recruiters to adhere to our Privacy Policy while handling Candidate data, Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in any information or documents shared with Recruiters through Manual Matching. Law.jobs does not guarantee that activating Manual Matching will increase employment chance, or obtain a job interview or offer. Recruiters benefiting from Manual Matching are not affiliated with Law.jobs, and Law.jobs has no influence over hiring decisions.

3. Applying to Job Listings through Law.jobs

By submitting applications to Job Listings through Law.jobs, you are sending your name and contact information, Profile information, curriculum vitae document, and any additional documents and/or cover letters to Law.jobs, and are requesting and authorising Law.jobs to make available your application information and any documents to applicable Recruiters for the indicated Job Listings. You are solely responsible for the information and documents you submit. Once submitted to Recruiters, Law.jobs does not have control over the Recruiters' use or disclosure of that information and documents. If you would like to request to view, modify or delete your data held by the Recruiters, you must make such request directly to the Recruiters.

Recruiters may store your information or documents after the Job Listing has expired or recruitment process is over. While Law.jobs endeavours for Recruiters to adhere to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy while handling Candidates' data, Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in any information or documents shared with Recruiters through Candidates' application to Job Listings.

Recruiters are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws of the employment location and/or relevant working locations, including but not limited to wage and labour laws, anti-discrimination laws, equal opportunities laws, and data protection and privacy laws. While Law.jobs endeavours for all Recruiters creating Job Listings on this website to confirm that their employment opportunities and recruitment processes are in compliance with relevant laws, Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in any issues occurring from Recruiters' Job Listings and recruitment process. Law.jobs recommends Candidates to exercise verifications and safety-first practices when applying to Job Listings, communicating/interviewing with Recruiters, accepting offers, or any actions when interacting with Recruiters. Law.jobs does not guarantee the validity of Job Listings and recommends Candidates to verify the validity and accuracy of Job Listings and job offers.

4. Job alerts

By creating Job Alerts, you request and agree that Law.jobs may contact you regarding Job Listings that match the criteria you have set and submitted. Job Alerts can be modified or removed any time through Job Alerts settings. Law.jobs cannot guarantee that all Job Listings meeting such criteria will be shared.

5. Your Candidate data

Information, documents, or cover letters you have submitted through this website may be made available to Recruiters whose Job Listings you have submitted an application to. Law.jobs may store any information or documents you have submitted through this website, according to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy.

Law.jobs may store certain information about you and any actions taken by you during your visit, information collected may include and is not limited to: Information you have entered into your profile, documents you have uploaded for job application use, and Job Listings you have saved and applied to. Law.jobs' storage and use of information will be according to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy.

Candidates may choose to activate Manual Matching. Upon activating Manual Matching, your submitted curriculum vitae document and Profile information will be made available to a database only accessible by Law.jobs staff. Candidates may also choose to deactivate Manual Matching, and once deactivated, your curriculum vitae document and Profile information will be removed from this database. If Law.jobs has found suitable a Candidate match for a Job Listing, Law.jobs may share with the Recruiter of said Job Listing the Candidate's name, email address, curriculum vitae and Profile URL, and Recruiters may then contact Candidates externally from this website. While Law.jobs endeavours for Recruiters to adhere to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy while handling Candidate data, Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in any information or documents shared with Recruiters through Manual Matching.

Candidates may choose to delete their accounts via Account Settings. Upon confirming account deletion, your account will be deactivated and kept for 90 days, during this period of time, your information will no longer be accessible or viewable by you nor Recruiters whom you have submitted job applications to. You may contact Law.jobs to reactivate the account within 90 days. After 90 days, the account and its associating data, information and documents will be fully deleted from this website and not be recoverable. By de-activating your account, you confirm and agree that all of your data, including your name, profile information, draft and submitted job applications, saved jobs, job alerts, and any uploaded documents will all be deleted and non-recoverable after the 90 day time period. Candidates who have Manual Matching activated before account deletion, will have their curriculum vitae document and Profile information be removed from the Manual Matching database upon successful account deactivation and deletion. However, Recruiters who may have viewed and/or downloaded information and documents, regardless of whether they're from Job Applications or Manual Matching, may still store such data, if you would like to request to view, modify or delete your data held by the Recruiters, you must make such request directly to the Recruiters. Law.jobs accepts no responsibility for or liability in any information or documents that Recruiters may still be in possession of, after a Candidate's account has been deactivated and/or deleted. Any confusion or conflicts in wording of this section, the Law.jobs Privacy Policy will be the final version adhered.

 

B) Terms and conditions of use for Recruiters

Law.jobs is a job seeking platform that focuses on legal employment opportunities, and thus, this website only allows legal-related Job Listings to be advertised. This website is available to use by individuals and/or organisations seeking to create and make available information regarding legal employment opportunities on their behalf or others' behalf. Recruiters are categorised into "Private company", "Law firm", or "Recruitment agent/agency", and this Website Standard Terms and Conditions is applicable to all Recruiters regardless of which category they may have chosen.

For purposes of Section B "Terms and conditions of use for Recruiters", all references to "you" or "your" means you, the individual accessing this website in the capacity as a Recruiter.

1. Registration as Recruiter

By creating an account on Law.jobs as a Recruiter in your capacity as an employee, representative of your organisation, or a professional recruitment agent, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind your organisation to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions. As a Recruiter, your Law.jobs account is strictly for business use only. By registering an account on Law.jobs as a Recruiter, you agree to receive mandatory email updates regarding any account activities, including but not limited to Purchase confirmations and new Candidate Applications received notifications.

In order to verify the legitimacy of Recruiters' identities and/or the organisations they are acting on behalf of, Law.jobs may contact Recruiters to obtain more information and/or Business Registration or other official registration documents and information. Failure to provide such information and documents may result in removal of the Recruiters' Company Profile, Job Listings, accounts and Linked Accounts, purchases, leftover Credits and any other items or information related to the Recruiter. Purchases, any purchased non-closed Job Listings, and/or leftover Credits will not be refundable in such cases. Law.jobs may be required to preserve business records pertaining to Recruiter accounts to comply with its obligations under law, even if you choose to delete your account or your account has been removed.

Recruiters are able to create multiple Linked Accounts under one Company Profile. Linked Accounts can be created by the primary account owner(s) by inviting other users to the same Company Profile, or sharing the Employer Code which other users can enter during registration. By default, the primary account owner will be an Admin. Admin(s) may designate other users varying levels of access and functionality ("Permissions"). The "Admin" and "Recruiter" Permissions have full access to all areas of the account including but not limited to creating Job Listings and viewing Candidates, however, only the "Admin" Permission has the ability to edit their Company Profile, whereas the "Recruiter" Permission may only view their Company Profile.

By inviting other users to register under your Company Profile and/or designate Permissions to them, you are agreeing that you have the authority to allow your data and access to be shared. Law.jobs does not hold responsibility for or liability in any issues, actions, damages, obligations, losses, costs, and/or expenses that result from the sharing of this data, sharing of access to your Company Profile, and any Purchases made under your Company Profile.

By accepting an invite from current existing users to register under a Company Profile, or registering a new account under an existing Company Profile with the use of Employer Code, you acknowledge that all Job Listing activity information you make is visible to all Linked Accounts under the Company Profile. Users under a Company Profile may have access to any and all account information, including but not limited to draft, published and/or closed Job Listings, Job Applications submitted by Candidates, and related Candidate information and/or documents. Linked Accounts under same Company Profile will not have access to sensitive information such as saved billing information.

If a Recruiter has chosen to delete their account with other Linked Accounts present under the same Company Profile, the account holder must assign the "Admin" role to at least one Linked Account before they could delete their account.

2. Company Profile

Upon registration to this website without the use of Employer Code or existing Company Profile invitations, Law.jobs will provide Recruiters with a new Company Profile, in which the Recruiter is solely responsible for making sure the information and content contained in the Company Profile is accurate and kept up-to-date. You agree that you are solely responsible for content added to the Company Profile, including but not limited to texts, photos, videos and/or third-party websites.

By default, Company Profiles are not publicly published or available. You may choose to make your Company Profile accessible publicly. When a Company Profile is made available publicly, your Company name will be made available in Law.jobs search results, in which users will be able to access the Company Profile, and all content submitted and saved will be viewable by any Users. Law.jobs does not hold responsibility for and is not obligated to screen any Company Profiles and its accuracy, availability, content, details, and links.

3. Creating Job Listings

Recruiters are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of details and content of Job Listings, keeping it up to date when necessary, and edit or close Job Listings if recruitment period has been modified or has ended earlier than originally stated. By creating Job Listings on this website, Recruiters confirm that Job Listings they create comply with:

  • Recruiting/hiring/relevant working locations' laws, adhering to legal labour laws and requirements, including but not limited to the legal minimum wage;
  • Recruiting/hiring/relevant working locations' data privacy and protection laws;
  • Recruiting/hiring/relevant working locations' non-discrimination laws; and,
  • Any other relevant and applicable laws in the recruiting/hiring/relevant working location.

By creating a Job Listing on Law.jobs, Recruiters understand and agree that they are responsible for ensuring Job Listings they create are in compliance with all applicable laws, and that there are no discriminating, malicious, misleading, and/or illegal employment opportunities/employment aspects within Job Listings they create. Employment opportunities that require Candidates to pay an employment fee are not allowed on Law.jobs, Recruiters may not advertise such employment opportunities if employment fees are required.

If any Job Listings are found to be in violation of this Website Standard Terms and Conditions, Law.jobs may undertake investigations and may remove such Job Listings and/or relevant Recruiter accounts and Company Profiles without obligation to provide reason or notification, and/or may take necessary legal actions.

Law.jobs offers several paid Job Listings options and benefits: Basic Job Listing, Premium Job Listing, and Boost Job Listing. Basic Job Listings are indexed and posted in an automated manner, Law.jobs has no obligation to exclude or remove any Job Listings or its existence in search results. Premium Job Listings are indexed and posted in an automated matter, and may be featured in more prominent positions in search results, as well as in other locations on this website, such as the homepage. Basic Job Listings and Premium Job Listings are displayed by default in chronological order of post dates, though Recruiters may opt to Boost a Job Listing to refresh its position in search results. All purchases are final and are not refundable.

If you have chosen to delete your account, you understand and accept that any and all non-closed Job Listings will automatically be closed, removed from search results, and will no longer be able to receive any new Job Applications. If you have changed your mind and decided to re-activate your account within eligible time frame, such Job Listings may not be reinstated nor refunded, regardless of whether they are Basic or Premium Job Listings.

4. Viewing and processing Candidates' applications

When Candidates submit Job Applications to Job Listings, they may submit a curriculum vitae document, and optionally additional documents and/or cover letters. Recruiters may download and/or view these documents, information and the Candidates' Profile via the Dashboard. Law.jobs recommends Recruiters to take cautious care and perform anti-virus scans to all documents downloaded via this website. Law.jobs is not obligated to scan any documents uploaded to this website, and have no responsibility for or liability in any issues resulting from documents downloaded from this website.

Law.jobs has no responsibility for or liability in the content, legality, accuracy, and legitimacy of documents and information that Candidates provide and submit in Job Applications. Law.jobs has no obligation to screen any Job Applications received by Recruiters through this website.

By creating a Job Listing on Law.jobs, Recruiters accept and agree that any information and documents obtained via Candidates' Job Applications must be handled in accordance with this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy. All Candidates' information and documents must be used for employment purposes only. Candidates may contact Recruiters directly in the case that they would like to request to view, modify or delete data that Recruiters hold, Law.jobs is not responsible for communicating with Candidates nor Recruiters in regards to such data that Recruiters possess.

You may provide other means of contact for Candidates to apply or contact through in Job Listings. By entering a third-party website to communicate or interact with Candidates, you understand and accept the terms and conditions of use imposed by that third-party website.

If a Candidate who has previously submitted a Job Application has deactivated their account, such Candidate's Job Application may be regarded as retracted, and their name, profile, information and documents will no longer be available to be viewed or downloaded. If the Candidate re-activate their account within the eligible time period, their information may be made available again. When the Candidate's account is automatically deleted after the eligible time period, their Job Application entry may be completely removed.

Recruiters are responsible for ensuring employment selection criteria and screening practices are job-related and in compliance with all applicable laws, including but not limited to non-discrimination laws of applicable recruiting/hiring/relevant working locations. Recruiters are responsible for offering alternative methods of screening if so required, according to disabilities and accessibility laws of the recruiting/hiring/relevant working locations.

5. Manual Matching

Candidates may choose to opt in to Manual Matching, which allows Law.jobs to view their curriculum vitae documents and relevant information. Law.jobs may then attempt to manually match such Candidates to Job Listings posted by Recruiters by evaluating information submitted and its relevance to available Job Listings. Recruiters must handle manually matched Candidates' documents and information in accordance with this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy.

Law.jobs has no obligation to match any and all Candidates for any and all Job Listings, and Law.jobs has no responsibility for Candidates that may have been matched and recommended to Recruiters. Law.jobs has no agreements, partnerships or obligations for Candidates who have opted in to Manual Matching, and also have no agreements, partnerships or obligations to Recruiters to provide manually matched Candidates to any and all Job Listings. Law.jobs has no responsibility for or liability in the content, legality, accuracy, and legitimacy of documents and information that manually matched Candidates may have provided and submitted, and Law.jobs has no obligation to scan or screen any or all documents and information received from Candidates through this website.

If a Candidate who has previously been manually matched to Recruiters has chosen to delete their account, such Candidate's information and documents will be removed from Law.jobs database. Law.jobs may contact applicable manually matched Recruiters to notify them of a retraction of such Candidate's information.

6. Purchasing

Basic Job Listing, Premium Job Listing, and Boost Job Listing purchases can be made with the use of Credits or US Dollars on Law.jobs. Credits is a currency only usable on Law.jobs, and cannot be refunded nor exchanged/converted back to cash once purchased. Credits can only be purchased through Law.jobs and through official Law.jobs staff via official communications. Only Credits purchased through official Law.jobs channels are eligible to be used on Law.jobs. Recruiters are recommended to verify all communications held outside of this website. Recruiters may contact Law.jobs Customer Service Team via cs@law.asia to verify any and all communications received. Law.jobs is not responsible for or have liability in Credit purchases made through unofficial channels, and may not grant Credits from purchases made through unofficial channels.

Purchased Credits will be added to the Recruiter account's Wallet, and are bound to that Recruiter's user account only, regardless of whether there are other Linked Accounts under a Company Profile. Credits will expire in two years of Wallet inactivity. Two years equate to subsequent two years on the same date as latest wallet activity. Wallet activities include purchasing Credits, and using USD or Credits to purchase Basic Job Listing, Premium Job Listing, or Boost Job Listing. Recruiters may view Wallet amount and Credits expiration date on the Dashboard.

Recruiters who have confirmed to deactivate and delete their account, all leftover Credits will be re-obtainable if account is recovered within 90 days. After 90 days, once the Recruiter account has been fully deleted, leftover Credits will not be recoverable nor re-obtainable.

If you choose to deactivate and delete your account, you understand and accept that any and all non-closed Job Listings will automatically be closed, removed from search results, and will no longer be able to receive any new Job Applications. If you decide to re-activate your account within the eligible time frame of 90 days, such Job Listings may not be reinstated, regardless of whether they are Basic or Premium Job Listings. Purchased Job Listings that have been closed early automatically due to account de-activation and deletion are non-refundable.

7. Your Recruiter data

Your Company Profile page and its content, and Job Listings information and contact details you have submitted through this website may be made available to Candidates and any users who may browse or search, through Law.jobs and third-party search engines.

Law.jobs may store certain information about Recruiters and any actions taken by them during their visit, information collected may include and is not limited to: Information entered into Company Profile, Job Listings regardless of its publishing state, Linked Accounts under a Company Profile, and account details submitted. Law.jobs storage and use of information will be according to this Website Standard Terms and Conditions and Law.jobs' Privacy Policy.

Law.jobs may use information found in Job Listings that have been published and are open for Manual Matching, such information may include any and all details of the employment opportunity and contact details. Once a match has been found, Law.jobs may contact Recruiter and/or representative under the Job Listing Contact Details to share with them potential Candidates. Law.jobs will not share with Candidates that a match has been made with a Recruiter.

Recruiters may choose to delete their accounts. The account is de-activated once confirmed, and will remain de-activated for 90 days. After 90 days, the account will be fully deleted and all applicable associating data and all leftover Credits will be removed and not be recoverable. If there are other Linked Accounts present under the same Company Profile, the account holder must first assign the "Admin" role to at least one Linked Account before they could delete their account. In such case, only the individual account and its associating data, such as account location and account contact information, will be deleted. If there are no other Linked Accounts under a Company Profile, associating data that may be deleted may include but is not limited to, Company Profile page and its content, Job Listings regardless of its publishing state, Job Applications received, and individual account data such as account location and account contact information. Law.jobs may be required to preserve business records pertaining to Recruiter accounts to comply with its obligations under law, even if you choose to delete your account or your account has been removed. Any confusion or conflicts in wording of this section, the Law.jobs Privacy Policy will be the final version adhered.

 

C) Terms and Conditions of use for All Users

Law.jobs is available for use only by general users viewing and browsing this website ("Users"), by individuals searching for and applying to legal job opportunities ("Candidates"), and by third-party companies, law firms, recruiters/recruitment agencies seeking to hire Candidates or posting employment openings, on their behalf or others' behalf ("Recruiters"). For purposes of Section C "Terms and conditions of use for All Users", all references to "User", "Users", "you" or "your" means you, the individual accessing this website in the capacity as a general User, Candidate or Recruiter.

1. Your use of this website

Users may only use this website for lawful purposes when viewing and browsing this website (Users), seeking employment opportunities (Candidates), or when advertising employment opportunities and recruiting Candidates (Recruiters). Users must not, under any circumstances, seek to undermine the security of this website or any information submitted to or available through it, including but not limited to seek to access, alter or delete any information to which users have no authorised access, seek to overload this website, interfere with the operation of this website, or attempt to decipher or modify any of the software, coding or information on this website.

Once Users have entered a third-party website via clicking on third-party links, or by using a third-party website to communicate with Candidates/Recruiters, Users understand and accept the terms and conditions of use imposed by that third-party website.

2. Intellectual property rights

Other than content you own, which you may have opted to post or otherwise include on this website, under these Terms, Law.jobs and/or its licensors own all rights to the intellectual property and material contained in this website, and all such rights are reserved.

You are granted a limited licence only, subject to the restrictions provided in these Terms, for purposes of viewing the material contained on this website.

3. Restrictions

You are expressly and emphatically restricted from all of the following:

  • publishing any material from this website not owned by you in any media;
  • selling, sublicensing and/or otherwise commercializing any material on this website not owned by you;
  • publicly performing and/or showing any material from this website not owned by you;
  • using this website in any way that is, or may be, damaging to this website or to the business of Law.jobs;
  • using this website in any way that impacts user access to this website;
  • using this website contrary to applicable laws and regulations, or in a way that causes, or may cause, harm to this website, or to any person or business entity;
  • engaging in any data mining, data harvesting, data extracting or any other similar activity in relation to this website, or while using this website;
  • using this website to engage in any advertising or marketing;
  • using a buying agent/purchasing agent to make purchases on this website;
  • impersonating/spoofing as, or to act on behalf of, Law.jobs or Law.asia to promote and/or sell Credits, Job Listings and/or services available on Law.jobs;
  • impersonating/spoofing as, or to act on behalf of, Law.jobs or Law.asia to advertise/market/contact/communicate/interact with other Users;
